Looking for info on carpintis...thinking of getting one or two

They will be babies, at LFS. I was going to put them in my grow out tank, and then eventually put them in my 125. The 125 currently has a Jack Demps, and a relatively mild mannered FH. What do you guys think?
 
Should be fine in a tank of that size. They're quite a bit rougher than your typical dempsey, but will probably fall below the flowerhorn in the pecking order. Very attractive fish IMO.
 
i just bought a carpintis too. he is small (2in).

how long do you think it will take him/her to reach 6in?
 
I use to have a 3 inch male, I think he took forever to grow to 4 inches, which was about 2 months i think. If I had to guesstimate, i would say 5-6-7 months?
 
ive also got a little 2 incher. i've had him for a few months and it doesnt seem like hes grown at all. they must be really slow growers
 
yeah that sounds good they should be fien..

Ours grew very fast it was 2.5 inches when we got in january and now is pushin 6" or so...
