Thinking about trying to aquire one of these "Bad Boys", therefore I'm looking for input from anyone who's had one or currently has one. If you have pics, please share them. It would be going in a 180 gallon with other large cichlids. Any information or experiences would be appreviated. Thanks

I have a pair - female's about 11" and the male's slightly smaller - alone in a 75g.

I've found them to be much, much milder than say red devil types. The female tends to dominate the male since she's bigger (I divide them from time to time) but neither has gone after me or bangs the glass like some fish.

Mine eat pellets and live red and super worms. I keep them about 80 degrees and do weekly 1/3 or so water changes with local tap (dechlorinated). The tank has a little coarse sand in the bottom and some large flowerpots. Filtered by two large boxes and a sponge filter.

Hey bro these are great fish. Some people have had trouble raising these while others having no trouble. There are some great threads reguarding care for them, which I recommend checking out before aquiring these bad boys. I have a pretty nice size spot in my heart for haitiensis. Great and beautiful fish.
Also with as much trouble as some people have with them I also recommend a species tank. IMO. But deffinetely give them a shot

Thanks for the information guys, helpful for sure. Hey broheim, where did you get your Haitians from????

If I had it my way, I would go with a 180 just for my male. I currently have him in a 75. They are open water swimmers and are happier in a bigger tank. Note: they might be named "black nasty", but they are no mean glass bangers... at least not my male.
