you sure it wasnt a scomb. Ive never seen a armatus at a lfs unless it was a big shop like aquascape or
sharkaquarium. normaly they dont sell them that small unless there scombs but I could be wrong. I tend to forget I live in ohio so lfs dont have **** haha but good luck man posting, send pics when you do! Just make sure its an armatus befor you get it, IDK abour you but I would be extreamly pissed paying $250 for a scomb haha

u can tell the diffrence from a 4 inch scromb and armatus. the black mark on the armatus is long while the scromb is small, armatus stays flat while scromb stays in an angle. not sure on red tails

The shop is quite big. It has three shops, 1 for accessories from ehiem products to china low end products, 2,3 shop all fishes, from marine to freshwater. So not to worry (: prices are good too. Although no further discount :x haha

My scombs only angle up when they going to strike but for some reason they sit flat and dont angle alot. my red tail will do it but its not as notisable. the tats are funny tho, people say there skiddish and almost never eat but when I got mine he was extreamly aggressive were I couldnt keep him with anything and would come to the top of the tank when I open the lid.

How to u guys differentiate btw scomb /payara/ Armatus? I am confused..

Payaras are all the sabertooth fish, Theres 4 types. scombs, rholp, tat and armatus. they are all different, my look the same but If you have done the reaserch and been around them alot then you can tell easily.
