Hello--

I've got sort of little this and a little that in my Malawi cichlid tank and not enough real hiding places for the adults. I've seen tanks with what looks like stacks of flat rocks and I wondered if they're sold that way or you have to make them yourself?

Also, where can I buy some good nook and cranny type rock formations for a 56 gal show tank? All the ones at the LFS are too small and have interior death traps.

Thanks,

When I was keeping Africans I collected a bunch of large rocks from the local creekbed.I was lucky as there were quite a bit of greyish colored rocks so I did'nt wind up with a multicolored effect in the decor.African lace rock is good when the stores have any....The fish show up nicely against it.

I've looked at the holy rock and like it but the shipping costs are a killer.

Do you know who sells the silicon slate?

thnx

People do it themselves, you just use aquarium silicone to glue the rocks to one another.

have these in my 75 malwai tank..my cichlids LOVE them many holes and hiding spots...kinda pricey though at petsmart they were around 45 bucks each and are acrylic. sorry for the bad pic
