Hi All , my name is zak and im new to the site but have been keeping fish my whole life. I have numerous tanks including a 120 deep with two wild caught peacocks, a 55 flordia native setup with a gar, bowfin, bullhead, lmb all wild caught. Im picking up a 125 regular tomarrow (for free) full setup that i want to setup as a Illinois native tank. It will be live planted like my others and i want to get five black or white crappie to fill it. :headbang2Just wondering since I cant get crappie that often down hear fishing does anyone know of any online sites that sell natives?

Getting my tank setup and looking good asap after i cycle it and so forth ill be ready for pics :naughty:.....!

First off welcome to MFK. Second please post a pic of your current tank.:D Crappie are very sensitive IME. I suggest going with sunfish, bullheads and maybe some pickeral.

I think its more important that you find a bigger home for your gar, bowfin, bullhead, and lmb before you go looking for more fish...

I dont know any sites, but the people from the native forum should know some. Ask Jim, hes a real cool guy that knows a ton of stuff about natives.

Crappies are cool looking & i think it would be awesome if you had some in your tank :D

I actually have a rather large black crappie in a native tank with a bullhead and large mouth. They seem to adapt fairly well as I have had mine for some time now. Mine is wild caught though haven't really seem them available for sale.

Thanks all ill post some pics up tonight of my tanks

Fisher ..... my bulhead gar and bowfin are all under 6 in so space is pleniful im working on a 300 gallon soon that will house my peacocks so my natives can go into the 120....

Saw jim on here thought he looked pretty smart when it came to natives
