Im going to be shutting down my tank and selling the rest of my fish but im not sure what to even ask for this 'girl' so i was hoping someone out there might have a better idea of what would be a fair asking price. 'Shes' an 8" callichthys catfish that ive had since it was alittle under 2".

I used to catch these cute fellas in Central Florida. they are a great IMHO but you may not get much do to the fact that they are not an attractive fish in most people eyes. I'm not sure what a fair price would be as i've never actually seen one for sale but i'd say somewhere between 10-20 usd.

Hoplos are all over in FL in every body of water it seems. IDK if this exact species. Anyhow, 8" is a good size but I am dubious an LFS would give you more that $5-$10 (in store credit) for it. If you find someone who wants it, I'd not ask for more than $10-$15.

thanks guys..Its not the same as a hoplo but pretty close..they have really cool 'personalities' imo and ill prob get another if i ever set up a good size tank again..

Good luck. Yeah, hoplo catfish as well as porthole catfish appear to be some of the common/generic names used for several genera in the family Callichthyidae, such as Callichthys, Hoplosternum, Lepthoplosternum, and Megalechis.
