if you can't find used I'd go to Petsmart if you have 1 in your area. Check www.petsmart.com and see what brands they carry. Then you check the internet for the cheapest price and print the add and bring it to the store with you. When you pay you tell them that you need a price match and that's how you get cheap stuff without having to pay for shipping. I bought all my 250W stealth heaters for $19.99 instead of $38 which is the store price.
PETCO sells those little Hydor 2.5 watt pads for small tanks - not sure on the price, might want to check their website - not sure if PetsMart has anything similar either, but if they do it's probably cheaper there.
