As a lot of people here know i am a tropical fish collector. Back when i started doing this in NY there was very little info about it. Nowadays there is more but still really no info on collecting tropical fish in NY and the tri-state areas. My plain is to change that. I am currently writing up a big paper that will have all the info you have been looking for in one place. But i have hit a snag. Though i have been doing this for the last 12 years i have very little amount of pics for the profile portion of the paper. Because of that reason i am reaching out to find people who do have some. Please remmber that this may becaome a published paper so please don't share pic's unless your ok with it being published. I will descied which pics will be used. So even if you see a fish already posted oh here that you have a pic of please post anyway. With each picture i will need

1. Your real name (you can pm it to me if you like.
2. Where the fish was collected (only looking for fish that have
been caught from mass to NC)
3. The month it was collected
4. The year it was collected

You can also pm me pic's or send them to my email at jpp118187@hotmail.com if you wish. The choice will be yours. For each pic i chose to use under the pic will have the person's name unless they say they rather be ided by there SN or a abreaviation of your name if you wish ( ex. John Paul = JP, John P., or J. Paul). As well as 2,3,and 4 from the list.

For those that are wondering after talking to quite a few people to get a idea on how this should be done and the amount of info i have to go through with my collecting logs i have and reviewing it with other divers i know this should take till the minn spring time to finish.

Here's a few pic's i already have loaded onto my photobucket

can't help you there, and not to derail, but what are the fish in the 1st and 3rd pics? good luck!

It's all good. People can ask to me that's not a derail but i do ask that people don't get out of hand.

fist pic is African pompano, Alectis ciliaris

second pic is Short bigeye, Pristigenys alta

This is great! I'm glad you are writing a paper on tropicals in colder waters. Would you want any info about some found in Maine waters?

Nice! I'll dig out some pics and email them and info to you this week.

Email sent.
