So I've been getting a TON of coralline on my rocks and then a ton of algae on my glass. I can't tell what kind of algae is growing on my glass. Does anybody have a close-up picture of coralline growth on their glass so I can compare?

scrape it with your fingernail. If its a plant of some sort (green) it will be soft / slimy and come off with your nail. If it feels rough like concrete and chipps off like dried on cement, then its coraline.

or ask a friend what color it is. Coraline is usually purple or pink, sometimes green.

I would suspect that it isnt coralline growing on the glass..

Coralline is usually a deep red to purple color and is a hard algae.

Personally I am getting a green hard algae on the walls that is hard to scrub off. If this is coralline then great, but I doubt it... So if anyone knows I 'd like to know too

Im pretty sure coraline algae ranges incolor including green. I'm waiting for coraline growth for the past year and 3 months...I should buy a calcium test kit and stop using purple up lol

I bought LR with some already on it so it's spreading ok in my tank

I was keeping my Calcium around 480 with Purple Up for awhile and I wasn't getting like any coralline growth. When I cut my water changes down to once every two weeks, I was getting a TON of coralline growth. Here's what I've gotten after 2-3 months of not dosing anything and just letting it regulate itself with a water change every 2 weeks.
