Trying to have some kind of corydora along with the stock. Ph is neutral and the hardness is 18 grains/gallon

Many of the Corys from southern South America and other none soft water spots do well in hard water.
When in Wisconsin my water was hard, with a pH in the upper 7s. I kept C. erhardti in those conditions, with semi-large cichlids.
They also get a little larger than some of the more dwarf types.

You Reckon a group of Corydoras aeneus, around 6 or so would be alright in my water parameters?

Aeneus along with paleatus are probably the most common cories bred in captivity and sold in pet shops around the world. Unless you are special ordering wild caught specimens, chances are that generations of them have been bred in tap water somewhere, and therefore more easily adapt to slight changes in water parameters.

Yes out of all the Corydora I have had the Corydora Aeneus is one of the hardy specie. Had 2 that lived over 6 years with my PH 7.0. I suggest you get them last after the aquarium is fully Cycled and has been up and running for awhile. I have a group of three Corydora Aeneus but use leaf litter in the aquarium their in because I have a group of Rummynose in with them.

Yes they have been around since I can remember late 70's if I remember correctly.
