I bought a jardini the other day for $30. He's about 3 0r 4 inches and looks good. I had a nice convo with the mfkers on a thread last night about tank size. I put the jar in a 20 gallon long to start b4 i toss him in the 55 which i think i can get close to a year out of i hope. I recently bought a 150 with everything for $200. After the convo last night it got me thinking about a bigger tank maybe in the next 2 to 3 years. What would be a good price for a 180 or 200 gallon tank. On craigslist there is a 200 gallon for $750. What are good prices for larger used tanks?

where did you get a jardini for $30 if you don't mind me asking, you can pm me if you don't want to post it here.
the price of large tanks varies depends on location. I got two 180g one was $300 and one was $200

Its a place called pet supplies in Albany NY. They are listed at $50 but i cut a deal and the guy sold it to me for 29.99 with no return option. Fish dont die on me often and i take special car when i have a aro

As a bare minimum all species arowana deserve to be kept in at least a tank that has a length 3x the length of the aro and a width/depth at least equal to the aro. So by this rule of thumb a standard 55g should be good up to a 12" aro. However most find that the arowana are much more skittish in a narrow 55. A 125/135/150g with the 72x18" footprint will support an aro up to about 18".

These are bare minimums that should be used, though unfortunately many senseless folk keep there aros in much smaller.

Albany NY, I was hoping it would be closer to NJ, oh well..
good luck with your tank search.
if it's going to cost you nearly $1000 for a 180-200g tank why not look into building a plywood one yourself? you can go bigger with similar amount of money.

well for the next year or so im going to keep my eye out for a 180 or 200 gallon. I think $750 for a 200 gallon is a little much. I may sell the 150 i got for $200, for like 500 because of the stuff i got with it.I wont pay a grand for any tank.

probably good for around 6 months??
I had a jardini a while back, got it around 4-5" and it was close to 18" within a year

Here in northern Illinois 180's go for about $400 with stand, hood, light and usually filter. 200-300gals go for about $500...those sell quickly. Usually same accessories as listed above. Of course there's the occasional person asking $700-$1200... I see them post for weeks at those prices.

Fyi: I get CL updates every 20minutes 24/7. Over the last 7 months if there's been a 150-500gal posted on CL, guarantee I skimmed over that ad. <3 my Moto Droid :)

Got a text from a guy today selling a 210 glass with sump and everything for $1200 I was like..... UMM NO. Then he said he dad a 300 acrylic with stand and everything for 5 grand i then dropped the phone and had a heart attack. Finding a a 180 and up for my jar in my area is gonna be harder than i thought
