As stated I am looking for something different.

I have a 120g with a 9" jardini, 10" and 7" ornate bichir, 2-7" endlic bichirs, 2-4" mono pbass, 5" NGT datnoid, 5" royal and a 4" gold nugget pleco. And they will be soon going into a 280g.

Will be adding more bichirs and an IT and NTT down the road.

I want something that will not have any aggression. I was thinking of getting a port cichlid(not sure on the species name). Was looking to get some other suggestions.

Thanks guys.

Aequidens portalegrensis is the species name. They're pretty peaceful for a cichlid, so you could do a more peaceful Amazonian cichlid community and could also throw in a few other fish like some pictus cats or maybe a BGK

Cool idea.. I really like that zebra knife in your avatar Hoyo.
I noticed you had a thread about wether it was time to add him. I'll have to check on the growth rate and size cause I'm sure if I get one I'll have to grow him out.

They have a abba abba knife(probably not the right name but I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about) thats about 4-5" at my LFS but they get like 5'. They have some BGK's and clown knifes that are sized to add now.

Thanks for the ideas.. Anymore MFK?

Thanks for the species name Andy. I had a old one that I rescued from a piranha tank at a POS LFS back when I was 14 and he was one of my favorite cichlids I have had. Didn't give any aggression unless it was given to him.

I see the jardini causing promblems very soon. They can be real s.o.b.s. Espicially with the bichirs. Port cichlids are great and as close to bullet proof as you can get. One of the original cichlids first introduced into the hobby. I have mixed them with blyue acaras and they worked well together. A lot of interaction.

Thanks. I think I'm going to stick it with the ports maybe 2 or 3. I had a knife once and couldn't get it to eat anything so I traded it in a week later.

And besides I want to start feeding more vegies and this will do it.

The jardini is as peaceful as can be right now. I don't have anything in the tank that will challenge it which is good. The 120 will be his if he goes balistic on anything.

Ok... the GF saw the pic of the port and said that she would like to see something with more color too.

More suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks everyone:D.
