Hello, I am pretty new to fish keeping with knowledge alone. My dad use to have some Cichlids, and I only vaguely remember some of that. But I've recently taken some interest in keeping Fish again, and I've seen some videos on youtube of some pretty friendly fish and thought it'd be pretty cool to try it myself.

So far, I have all of my dad's old equipment for the 90G which currently houses Hermit Crabs. I am looking at some fish, and as much as I would like a Pleco, Black Moors seem very nice to keep. I am picking up a 30G for a current home until I am paid to get a larger one, since I know a growing fish needs space.

My question is that with a Black Moor, what other fish would be compatible for them? I am looking at getting 3-4 fish to keep so I can keep things at a manageable level for myself. I have read Black Moor and Pleco may fight a bit, but I'm seeking confirmation on that. I also know there is some temperature difference with the two that may just be a bad idea to start. Thanks for reading, cheers.

My only advice is to wait it out until you save enough money to get the tank you really want.

A black moor? Isn't that a google-eyed goldfish? No they don't get very big at all maybe 5" and they won't fit anything especially a place however remember goldfish don't like tropical temps like the place would

Let me say this. Picking up a 30g is not worth it. Within two months of starting this hobby I went from a 20->50->180. I wish I had just started big. Save up, get a big tank. You will want it.

Sounds good. I think I may sit on this idea, research more until Thursday when I can make a proper investment. What would you guys suggest for Gourami that are friendly, if any exist at all?
