i seen a tank a while back that was divided and has a little stream on topthat flows to a small body of water on the right then flowed down to another chamber and then another... i would like to find one to put in a 55 gallon or so. if you seen one of these systems you will know what i am talking about.. it is awsome you can keep anything in it as long as the fish are little.

I think I know what you're talking about. The one I'm thinking about was custom though. My friend who breeds show guppies has a similar set up. They are 20g longs though. The parents are in one, and as the fry grow, the move down the line. It's like a spillway design, correct?
something like that it is like a little ecosystem.. i seen it at the LFS but they dont have them anymore..
