I have two hujeta gar and one redtail cuda in my tank right now, and I'm looking for some tankmates for them that are similar and compatible. Any toothy fish, possibly a payara or gatf if I can find one for a reasonable price. Any other suggestions?

GATF would work with them as far a conditions go, but it will get much bigger. If you want an ATF, you'd be best off getting a Hydrocynus forskahlii, they stay fairly small in tanks, like less that 18".
A Hydrolycus tatauaia or scomberoides are both payara that will be quite compatible with the three fish you have.
What you didn't mention that's quite important is the tank setup.

Thanks for the detail, right now they're in a 29 gal tank as they are all around 3". I'm going to upgrade to a larger tank next year, which i would like to keep under 200 gal.
