Looking for the right Bichir

Hello Im interested in bichirs but dont know much about them i've owned one (A saddled bichir) in the past but my ignorance of them and lack of common sense at the time lead to a unhappy ending (eaten by a SA Redtail).So im wondering what is the best bichir to get when it comes to size i was looking for some that grew large and quickly.Please Im open to all suggestions.

There arent really any bichirs that would be safe with a RTC. Perhaps if you got a wild PBB, or EC that was already huge, but even thats pushing it.

I wouldnt risk that, those are pricey fish I wouldnt want to be out $$$...

Oh yeah, just saying theyre big and might survive. If I actually got my hands on them they would be in a tank with nothing but other (smaller) bichirs
