Are there any website I can go to to look up what will be needed and the kind of timeframe it will take to build? I'm looking in to making a 375 (8' X 36" X 25") and I know this is an ambitious project, but I'd much rather avoid using the plywood builds and make it from glass or acrylic.

Would doing it myself be more expensive than just paying the 2500 to glass cages and picking it up?

Or would it be cheaper to buy the 375, the 100 gallon sump, and have it already drilled by glass cages and just build my own stand... (their stock stand is 650 dollars)

It all depends on your budget, how much time you have, how good at DIY you are and how much you are willing to read, learn and implement. Making your own tank is simple in concept, but it can get somewhat complex.

Well I wouldn't want to spend more than 3000 because at that point it costs just as much as buying one from glass cages. I have plenty of time, a background in architecture and my father has plumbing experience to help plumbing the bottom of the tank. This tank will be freshwater

I think you should take another look into the plywood tanks. just IMO.
Ive built a couple all glass tanks.. For mostly snakes and other reps. Not near as fun. Kind of sucks in my opinion lol. The plywood tanks are more fun, you can personalize them alot more, and depending on where your located glass is crazy expensive. But with my glass builds I built a frame(exterior) and laid the glass panels in the 2x4 frame and thats how I got them perfectly square. Anyways goodluck either way!

I agree with the above building a plywood tank can be very rewarding I myself with a budget of 3000 Im pretty sure i could build 3 plywood tanks the size that you want or you can check craiglist or on here for deals on monster tanks hth Mike.
