So I have a 160g with a 5.5" midas(pretty sure it's a female), 5" oscar and 5"Green Terror(male) as well as 4 small clown loaches and 1 bichir. I want to get a catfish of some sort for a bit more bottom of the tank activity. My lfs had some good sized synadonis featherfin catfish for $25 I was looking at. Would those work well in American cichlid tank? I'm open to recommendations. Also interested in adding some dithers and possibly a couple more similar sized cichlids such as this red tiger mota I had my eye on. I have a 120g I will be setting up within the next month incase things dont work out, and I also planned on upgrading to a MINIMUM 240g+ tank within the next year or two.

The joy of cichlids.. love them so much and wish they would work together.. some people have good experience doing what you're doing but as you already know with my old thread I gave up before knowing for sure if it would work for me or not...
Tank is pretty crowded already when they reach adult but you syy you'll have a 240.. so that's a bit more room... tank looks good with all the pots and hiding places.
featherfin is an african cat and the one I had would pick on one fish... only one and terrorize it.. heard similar from other people but not sure if they're all like that.
Having back up tanks for cichlids is key I think... my biggest problem is I cant have all the tanks I want anymore... more tanks means you can move fish around if needed as I'm sure most people with these setups constantly havto do so their cichlids dont kill one another.. just my 2 cents
