I am looking to build a new filter for my 300g. I have no room under the tank to put a huge sump the way the stand is constructed. I want to put a 75g in my basement so I need to pump up about 13 feet. Right now I have a mag18 , a 38g sump and an fx5 but I need a lot more filtration any opinions on this?

Going to the basement will be your best option. You'll need a different pump though. Not only will it give you flexibility in the sump design, it will also be much easier than working with tight clearances in customizing a sump for your stand (I speak from experience; I don't have a basement).

Actually head would be more like 10 foot I was measuring from the floor not including the stand I fish are getting too big water changes are becoming for frequent to keep good levels. I hope this will help my problem
