looking to buy more species of dats.

im from hawaii so i dont really see to many different types of dats so far ive only seen a ngt, silver, gold. i was also wondering if its illegal to bring the types in to hawaii?

Hi, I'm in Hawaii too. You can get all the five species of Datnoid in Hawaii, it's just that some are more rare and costly than others.

As for a 55 you can keep a few, just keep in mind that Datnoids, although relatively slow growers, still reach pretty big sizes.

From what I've heard from others who live in Hawaii, IT(indo), NTT(thin bar), AT(silver) are available here and there at LFS. NGT's only recently have been brought in but fetch high prices over $200. ST are never sold in LFS in hawaii and are brought in personally from other states. Your state ag list shows that you can only bring in IT and AT. As for stocking your 55g I recommend only a few, maybe no more than 5. Remember that dats are messy and produce lots of waste. You may want to up your filtration.
