Hi guys.

I always like arowana fishes. My dad owned a silver and he grew to be like18' but it jumped out of the tank and also had a jardini.

I haven't own any fishes or tank for 6 years. but now I am itching to get back into this hobby.

I think I can get a 125g tank from my friend who currently has two flower horns in there for $150.

I am looking to get a 4-6' jardini for about 65$

What else I need to get? And how much it will cost to start this hobby?

Thanks

Welcome!

Price will vary by how DIY and 'yard sale' you go. I do everything on the cheap and still end up spending hundreds of dollars a year keeping up. A 125g is a really good start for a single jar, and should work for a few years before you'll likely want to upgrade. Your pricing is about right, but bigger ones can often be found for the same price if you want to skip the 'tiny' stage.

yeah 65 is a good price depending where you are.. at that size they go for 80 here in vegas and at 12"+ they go for 200 dollars or more. i have my 15" in my 125

Sure will once I find a place to place the tank.

What kind of filter should I get? How you test the water is right?

Thanks everyone for your replies.:headbang2

GET A BIGGER TANK!!!! A 125g is not going to cut it! especially a JAR! id try to pay less for the JAR as well... like $50 bucks or something
