Looking to get RBPs

I currently have a 55gal tank and I'm looking to get some RBPs. I read in other threads that 20g/RBP is recommended and 3 RBP is a recommended minimum. So... being 5g short of the 60g recommended for 3 RBP, how would 3 RBP fair in the 55g tank? I'd be getting them as babies around 1".
