looks like dropsy

I'm going to check out some stuff about that now that I'm at work and have internet access. One of my severums is bobbing around the tank head up. Occasionally he'll swim about. He has some of those protruding scales. I noticed a funnny spot on his belly a couple day ago. I thought he just scratched himself on a rock. Yesterday after work is when I noticed the funny swimming and protruding scales. I got some maracyn two at the lfs. I treated the whole tank. This was from the lfs suggestions. Anything else I can do? I spend all kinds of $$ on my fish, and yet I'm too cheap to get the internet for home.

I have not had much experience with dropsy (one fish years ago that died), but Maracyn 2 is a minocycline formulation and that is supposed to be pretty good for dropsy and swim bladder disease if used as directed. They make 2 varieties, one for salt and the other for Freshwater so make sure you got the right one.
