With Dwarf Baby Tears, you will no matter what, have algae.
I have two (If not three) types of algae in my 10 gallon planted. The first one is a very dark green algae that has formed a carpet over the substrate, completely covering the HC. I have been stirring it up to make sure it doesn't keep the HC from growing, but in a matter of a night time, it manages to create another carpet.
The other kind is a light green fuzzy algae that grows on the glass of the tank. It has defeated my magnetic scraper (Meant for a 30 gallon tank) and has been very difficult to remove. I haven't had the chance to use a razor, but that's coming next.
I have cut down my lighting by 2 hours (From 8 down to 6 hours) and kept my CO2 injection the same the whole time. I stopped dosing my Flourish and Flourish Iron 2 months ago, and no change in the algae.
All I have in there is a dwarf gourami and it's being filtered with an AC 20 (100).
