Every couple of years I love to go to this place. It is a zoo formed in 1972 by wolfgang kiessling, a german with a passion for parrots (loro means parrot in spanish) on the north part of the island of tenerife (for my american friends an island belonging to spain just to the west of north africa). After starting with parrots only this place has grown and grown and is now quite simply the best zoo on the planet imo.
It is so clean, so open, their animals are so well treated that it is a joy to behold compared to some places you may visit. Here's just a sample of over 250 pics i took on our day their last week.
