I had to go away for a month earlier,i left my wife and son in charge of my 125gal.When i left there were only 5 fish in it(mated pair of Jags,2-Sveni Pikes and a horse face Geo)when i got back there were much more(a Silver Datnoid,a Oscar,2-Irredesant sharks,a choclate cichlid and Severum)my problem is the water,it stays cloudy all the time and i am doing a ton of water changes yesterday i did a 60% water change and it is still cloudy,i am planning on getting rid of some fish will this help??My ph is 7.0,my amonia is 0.0.Any help is really appreciated also i only feed every other day.

I would imagine it would help if not solve the problem. Maybe try cleaning out your filter media on your next water change. Make sure you clean the media off in the water you've taken from the tank.

Any idea why your wife and children decided to add fish to the tank without your permission? "Because they were pretty" ? lol

it should. It sounds like it could just be a bacterial bloom. What is your filtration ? Running carbon and purigen will polish your water up :)

I have 2 hang on filters,i replaced the filter media and im thinking that this might be the problem.

Replaced as in tossed out media that was beneficial bacteria seeded? If so that is almost definitely the problem...

You replaced all of the media? Thats a big no-no... your more then likely going through a mini-cycle then. Keep a close eye on the water parameters and it should clear up soon.

On a side note I HIGHLY recommend you buy some more/stronger filters. Two HOBs can't possibly be enough even with the strongest ones you still aren't at a 10x turnover rate. I recommend buying two AC 110 and you should be set for filtration. Although having 4 HOBs is a pain it is the easiest method. The best thing to do though would be to buy a 40 gallon-55 gallon and make a sump. The sump method can be fairly expensive and somewhat of a challenge if you aren't handy in the slightest.

yea deff a no no if you threw out all the media at once... its a mini cycle... just keep an eye on the params.. the water will sort itself out..... dont get rid of any of the fish... what are the 2 HoB anyway?
