one of my overflow tubes keeps losing suction every couple days. I dont get it. there is no air in the tube and no obstructions in the teeth of my overflow box. the other tube is perfectly fine and never loses flow. what are some reasons for an overflow tube to lose it's vacuum?

Pics?

get a longer stand pipe for the outside part of the overflow.

What I am seeing is the air bubbles in the in tank part. When they get in the tube, they will start to collect until it loses suction. The dead leaves contribute to low water in the tank side and the slots that remain free cause more turbulence, which causes the bubbles. By having a taller stand pipe, the water level in the in tank side will be higher. Thus you will have fewer bubbles because the water will not have as far to fall.

that's the right answer... i did that and there are less bubbles... awesome, thanks chompers
