I got a 90 tank from craigslist and built a stand for it out of cinder blocks and 2x4's. I filled it up, added 2 bags of pool filter sand, and it started leaking everywhere.

Today, I went and bought a brand new 75 gallon aquarium, filled it with pool filter sand, and started filling it with water. When it was about 15% full, it began leaking!

Is it my crappy stand-build? Is it the sand? It does feel pretty coarse... Luckily the pet store is going to hook me up with another 75.. but they said they'd have to look at my stand first...

I'm trying to upload a picture of the stand... basically it's 2 stacks of cinderblocks piled 4 high, with 3 2x4's going across and a 3/4 inch peice of plywood on top.

My 75 is on 6 stacks of cinder blocks 3blocks high .3 stacks in front 3 stacks in back with a peice of 48x18 wood.it covers all corners and most of the middle with cinder block alone, but the wood covering the bottom gives that extra support

only reason the tank should leak is if the seams are broken. You missed lots of info though.
1 is it level
2 is it glass or acrylic
3 where is the leaks coming from

If they are leaking that fast it's not the stand its the tanks. Broken seals.

I need to spark up my fish life

It is level.
It is glass.
The leak looks like it is coming upwards from the bottom plastic near one of the corners. I ended up filling it all the way up cuz it stopped. I added some rocks and it started a little bit again. It's really weird. It's like an extremely slow leak must be...

You got a bad tank. Poor stand shouldn't make a tank leak instantly. Take it back and return it. Filling it all the way is just asking for problems
