Damn it sucks losing a fish tha you have grown out since a fry ~1"!

I got my Red Hooded Severum up to around 5" and all was well. It was submissive toward my much larger golden red spot severum, but did not fight. I placed a 1.5" Cuban cichlid into the tank for growout. The little monster obliterated the 7" Golden. After that it destroyed the red hood. I removed the 1.5" Cuban cichlid to a tank with an agressive 5" Butterkoferi Tilapia 4" Polleni tilapia & 7" Sax. Pike Cichlid. The 4" polleni was getting killed so I moved it to the Severum tank where I could heal both finnage at the same time.

I got the fins all healed up, but now the passive "near dead" polleni tilapia is beating the F*@% out of the red hooded severum.

Sounds like a really bad day! It may be time to buy a third large tank or lose a few more fish. Did you try redecorating the tank, providing sight breaks and cover?

Peathenster has it right. Get a new small tank for the cuban, or rehome it, or take to LFS or whatever. It needs to not be in either of your two main tanks. It is clearly a serious problem psycho fish in the context of both of your tanks. Some fish are just like this.
