Loss of appetite

Will the female not eat as much during breeding? She ate really good yesterday, but today she didnt eat that well. She has some bite marks on her from the male so i assume thats whats going on. Thanks for any info.

dont panic yet.

but as you mentioned they shoudl be eating alot more when they are pregs.
give it a few days,
if there is no progress try turning the temp up.
How her last poo looking?

I have only noticed an increase in appetite starting from when they mate, never seen a ray lose its appetite over it.

i never had my female loose her appetite...

i would keep a close watch, but i guess its possible the male is stressin her out ...

My females never lose thier appetite during mating either. Is the female maybe too young?

She pretty close to 14" in diamater. She probly about a year old. The males only about 10-11" in diamater.

I just feed her and she ate three nightcrawlers. I feed her a fourth but she didnt eat it, just kinda nawed on it. So i divided off the tank between her and the male. The water all test ok. I guess as long as shes eatting something thats good?

She probably isn't mature yet so dividing them is a good idea. Hope everything works out.

good chance she is just getting bullied, unless shes bred before or something :S

as long as she is eating you are okay. keep her divided.
shes probably just recovering.

Believe it or not she was bulling the male around when it came to food. She was pretty much the queen of the tank.
