Bought two 3.5” monoculus 3-4 weeks ago..have been doing great eating Vibra bites and small pieces of tilapia. Liked them so much ordered 2 azuls and 1 more mono. Everything seemed to be going alright, scrubbed the walls of the tank and did a water change and the two original bass turned dark stopped eating where breathing hard with mouth open and within 2 days both were dead. The new 3 still are doing good and eating well. Just want to make sure I give the three I have left every chance to make it. Only other tank mate is a baby silver aro. In a 40 breeder with a 407 canister filter good aeration doing 25% daily water changes and 50% every third day ( do daily changes on the discus so figure why not do them also).this set up is just a qt/ grow out to get them big enough my rays don’t try to eat them. Right now running a course of metro/Prazipro and salt @ 1tbs per 10 gal. Temp like 82. Is there something I’m over looking? Could it have been just stress?

Couple questions

1. did you quaratine with meds after receiving fish?
2. how soon did you do a water change after getting them?
3. where are you located? if in US this time of year water companies add more chemicals to tap water so you need to double/triple up on seachem prime etc.

they are still in qt I didn’t do a separate qt for the two different orders figured same supplier and the first batch was still in qt.

Kept pretty routine on daily water changes of around 25% and suck left over food out when needed

In utah. I have a main water feed to my 430 gallon tank ran threw a couple carbon filters. That I use to fill everything other than my ro tanks
