In a clay pot
Came home to see both of my Ornates on the ground. Looks like one knocked the lid open and the other followed suit. I tried adding them back to the tank but they were already gone. They're about 9 years old and had the best personalities, almost puppy like. They were also kept with much smaller polys and we're never aggressive. Gonna go add some more weight to the lid now, I thought four 10lb plates would be enough. RIP a couple true monsters.

Sorry for your loss, beautiful fish. Doubt they could move 40lb though, do you have cats, dogs or small children?

Wow. I'm really sorry. That's a terrible way to start a day. I wish you the best. I'm going to reinforce my lids today. I've heard of polys shifting absurd amounts of weight to escape tanks. Keep your head up Mickey.

Sad for u loss...but u can b proud that u kept thm for 9 yrs

Wow. that really sucks. I would cry if I lost my 15 and 17" ornates. I came down to my 20" endli on the floor one morning but somehow he survived. I tape my lids now and haven't had a problem since :knock on wood:

So sorry, feel your pain. Lost my 23" giant ornate two years ago. Gutted me! Grew it out from 5"

Sucks but give it time and start working on new monsters
