Feeling horrible! About a while back I bought a very large firemouth that was absoultley stunning. I normally don’t buy adult fish from fish stores as I am uncertain what they have been exposed to in the past. I did recognize some scarring which looked possibly hith like. Sure enough the first bout of hith came on fairly early soon even thou I maintain perfect water parameters I assumed it was due to a hunger strike. This fish was literally immune to any medication and his care was very difficult. He became very aggressive in recent months and I had multiple bouts of hith and secondary infection. This last bout of hith was relentless and I couldn’t beat it. I had to humanely euthanize him as he was suffering and refusing to eat. Did I do the right thing?
