When I first got back into fishkeeping almost 3 years ago now the first "monster" fish I bought was a little 3 inch ornate bichir along with a 4 inch endli. Well now the endli is pushing 14 inches and the ornate got to 16" before he managed to somehow escape the tank while I was away. I was contemplating selling him but even still it sucks to come home to a dead friend. I'd rather have him go to a good home than to fish heaven... or hell since he was a murderer haha.
Anyways keep those tank lids down tight because big bichirs can move a bit of weight and still find their way out

He was a beast. :(

Sorry for your loss.

Thanks guys. I'll miss him for sure. He's the fish that got me into monsters and bichirs in particular. Its not the same to look at my tank and not see his massive bulk chilling in the corner :/
