i picked up a second hybrid friday eve,,,while i was taking the trolley out of the shop i noticed water dripping from the polystyrine container , i asked the checkout to inspect the package and the large bag was found to be punctured and slightly deflated ,the shop assistant asked me to wait while they rectified the problem , they wheeled the trolley back to the fish room and after about 10 mins wheeled it back all sealled up with tape , i was told it had now been double baged ,
i then loaded into my car and drove the 1hour 30 mins journey home,,
when i got home and opened the box to my horror the original punctured bag had not been replaced, only placed inside another bag that was left open ,,
all the air had deflated and the fish can only be described as looking like it had been vacume packed ,as the bag surface had collapsed onto the fish,,
the fish did not seem to good at all after its terrible experience and i tried my best to get some life back into it by leaving lights off and placing near a good water current and aeriation, next morning as i expected i found the fish had come to its end,
i called the shop i bought it from and they did say to bring it back with a sample of my water (to make sure my water did not kill it) and they had another in stock that i could have or a refund ,,
i just thought i would mention this as from now on i will always be checking the quality of packaging even after i complain and am told it is now ok, i did not think i would have a problem after a first complaint on the packaging so its good to check and check again ,,
here is the one i lost ,, he was 16 inches
and today i collect a replacement, 15 inches but looking good so far,
i took some pics during aclimatising him ,over an hour every five mins i take a cup of water out and trickle in a cup of water from the aquarium while using a spare heater to keep temperature stable
