I woke up the other day to a flooded living room because my 100g decided to randomly start leaking. I had to move all the fish into a 75g rather quickly, obviously to save them and to save the rest of my living room. I was able to fill the 75g about 2/3 the way with water from the 100g. The rest of the water was fresh. After breaking my wifes carpet scrubber, borrowing my moms then deciding it was junk, i finally rented one from Home Depot. I spent the next several house cleaning etc.

Go to bed - all is well.

THEN...... The next day while im at work i get a call saying several of my fish were dead :(
When i got home I found that I had lost my large Shovel Head, my two Silver Barbs that i have had since they were tiny and raised them to about 6" each, my Alunacara, and one of my Rafael Cats. I was crushed because the TSN was one of my favorite fish. I had several fish survive but other then an Oscar and the other Rafael they were all Ancient fish. (lung fish, knife fish, gar)

Why did i lose my fish? Why did only the Ancients live? I am very glad that atleast some lived I am just totally lost as to why any of them died in the first place.

was it stress?

AHHHHHHH I am not a happy person

I think the bioload caused a high ammonia or nitrite spike and that's what killed off your fish. I know you're well aware but that is a HUGE bioload for a 75g and I think the shock from that plus the shock from having the 100g leak and move would have done them in.

Probably not enough oxygen, plus other factors mentioned. Always add a few airstones if you're crowding.

dam you had all that in a 100gal?
