A large mistake on my part to not keep up on my water with checking all the levels of everything come to find out my ph was way down ammonia way up and nitrates/nitrites way outa wack.

and to the right is the small one about 2.5". Im guessing he is about a year or so old? Im not too sure on how fast these guys grow ive had the small one for 4 months and havent seen really any growth. The big guy I bought full grown about 2 months ago.

yes I have learned a lesson not to feed my fish like the typical chicagoian eats... Like a fat ass over eating I was over feeding my fish but I have learned things will change now that lessons have been learned.
Sorry for ur lost... usually their not too demanding..... maybe they died from old age...
