My Silver Aro. decided to jump out last night. There was the SLIGHTEST gap in the hood, still a little baffled how it fit through it, frustrating cuz i was gonna fix it in the morning...:(. It was lookin gorgeous too!! Got 'er when it was about 4"...died at 8.5"....and I only had it for a bout a month and half...CRAZY growth...lol. Soo pretty though, kept eating all my cichlid color enhancing pellets...lol. Reds, blues and greens were really coming out. Its pelvic fins were SUPER long too....just awesome finnage. And now its gone......second aro. i have lost. First one got eaten by my pike cichlids...but thats a different story.

LOL....fo shizzal. If i get another aro though its gonna be a black tho. Next time I am back in Washington.....i dunno. May be awhile. I am actually lookin into going to College in Australia....starts in March...be gone for a full year. So yeah. Kinda not sure what to do with my fish...lol...don't wanna sell them...but don't really wanna leave them for my 'rents to watch either....:S
 
I know how you feel I have had silvers,greens,and blacks jump out on me. its not easy to take when you just wake up. I almost wanted to quit this hobby when my green died. my condolences and hope you find a better fish. always cover your tanks arowanas are crazy jumpers!!!

My tiger striped shovelnose ate my 9 inch arowana. Swam right past feeders, some five spot jewels, and some small needle nose gar to do it. What a dick, but I still love him, how couldnt I? I grew him from an inch to two feet.
 
just had the same thing hapen yesterday. It realy sucks I share your frustration. I guess we know to fix those small holes right away now don't we.. good luck
