My big Humerosa passed away due to ammonia burn... I wasn't able to do a water change last week due to a broken septic tank. Im so bummed, even my mom was crying over this one. She was a beautiful, lively ray with a great personality and a love for massivor delight. She will be greatly missed.
R.I.P Daisy. :cry::cry::cry::cry:

Sorry about the loss. I have a question though - What kind of filtration do you have on that tank?

Missing a water change shouldn't cause ammonia to spike. You would normally just have higher nitrates.

You'd only have ammonia if you don't have enough BB to handle the bio-load.

I've got an FX5 and it's a 100 gallon tank. It's kinda over stocked at the moment though so I'm guessing that was the problem. I really don't know what else it could have been. other than her red belly, she looked as if she was in perfect condition when she was found. (minus the fact that she was dead...lol)

Sorry....
