She has looked rather slugish the last few days and not eating. Today she was resting on the bottom with labored breathing. And tonight she died.

Her mate looks bummed as they were very bonded. They produced many spawns and was a good mother, geeting it right from the first time.

She measured 4 1/2"

I am glad I was able to mail some of her fry around the country to keep this wonderful and underated species going.

awwh, I hate losing my fish. But its life. There isn't much you can do. I had two oscars that were from the same batch and raised them for 6 years till one swallowed a rock and died 4 days later. His buddy died a few days later. It was sad because when he realized his buddy was gone, he refused to eat.

Your fish is very beautiful. btw.

:rip :(

looks really nice, gl spreading the species

Really sorry for Your loss, she was a beauty. I hope the juvis i have turn out as nice

man that sucks, they are an awesome fish to own, i have two fry right now which i believe are male and female. I did have a pair of full grown ones, but i had a complete tank meltdown months ago and lost all of them.
