I just lost this one just now.
I have this is the biggest of four that I have left. This one and one other paired up and made some frys in a community tank. The first time all was lost due to other fishes in the tank that ate them all up, Second time I took as much as I could out and is now in a 29 gallon, third time which was a month later I also took as much as I could out and is now in the 29 gallon also but in a net to separate the older frys from the new ones..
What was really messed up was that the RD that bred with this one all three times after the frys were not with them anymore due to the other fish in the tank and me moving them to a separate tank (the frys) it would go pair up with a different RD and would attack the RD that died. The third time tis happen the RD that paired up with a different RD both attack the one I just lost real bad I couldnt believe it. And the one I lost starved it self for the longest time just to care for the frys and I can tell it was going to be a good parent and It was sad/down that it lost its frys.
I moved the RD too late, I moved it into the tank that has the frys the wounds was just too bad I was hoping it would heal but slowly it just got worst and lasted two to three days and I just lost the RD.
What was even more messed up was this was the only spare tank I have also was the one with the frys and it looked like the frys was picking at the parent RD's Body as it's life fades away.
BUT At least it was with its frys before it past.
