Hey everyone. I have been having a horrible time lately with things and haven't been on a whole lot lately. Top it all off, on Friday afternoon I look into my tank to see my fish. And I don't see one of my arowana.

Sadly, I found him under the tank. Lil buddy managed to shoot out a opening where my filter lines go through. I have a wooden canopy and everything. I tried but I knew he was gone:( . He was one of my smaller silver arowana of 13". Had him since he was 3" too. He was a good one too with a mild temperment and was already allowing me to hand feed him and everything. I still feel for the lil fella, you know? Sucks and I feel horrible about it. I since cut some styrophome and fit it to the opening, so should not happen again with my other silver and black arow. I put some pics of him in the Pics section under the Dead fish thread.:( :(

No matter how safe you think you have your fish, a small mis-step can end in something like this. Please everyone, double check your set-ups. Just in case. That opening was only 1" tall.

RIP "lil' buddy"

sorry for your lost.. i lost one of mine that way too. My tank is now completely covered with not even an inch opening.

I use plastic wrap around the filter gaps to make sure my Jardini stays in the tank. When he gets bigger I will have to think of a better way on his new tank.
