Young pair of wild morph petenia splendida. First time keeping these guys. I got 6 4" ones from cichlidsoftheamericas about 3 months ago. They are now all 7-8". This young pair is putting down a spawn in the flowerpot. I did not expect them to spawn so small. If the eggs look fertilized I'll remove some of the other fish from the tank. They are currently with an trio of Carpintis Escondido's which are also about to spawn, some oglicathus from Madagascar, and 4 ornatum.

This is a young pair of festae. First spawn for this pair. There are wigglers in the pot. This pair is in a 125g with 3 huge red hooks. They are extremely clam and well bonded currently. If the spawn gets to free swimming I'll pull about half of them and leave the rest for the parents.

This is a young pair of paraneetroplus Breidohri. This pair form in a stuffed growout tank and have already spawned twice. Male is only about 4.5" and the femail is maybe 3.5". I pulled the last spawn and have about 200 free swimmers. I'm going to leave them in the growout tank for a while and slowly remove some of the other fish over the next few months.

That didn't take long, JD!

Dan from COA donated some of the wild morph Petenia to AquaMania (this year and last) and I have a big shoal in my 180g, including a couple of pairs that spawn pretty regularly. For being big and large-mouthed, they're remarkably incapable of defending their nest from the likes of Severums and Acaras :)

I've still got a Geo male for you (I'll bring to Louisville).

Mine are also in a 180g Matt. Are yours very calm with each other? Mine show no real aggression other then posturing. They sure can eat though. An Escondido pair is spawning right now on the other side of the tank.

Looking forward to the ACA. Not sure what day I'll be up, it should be a good time.

No aggression at all, except toward food (red wigglers, especially).

I'm planning on arriving on Thurs afternoon...in time to see Willem Heijns presentation on Central Americans :)

I love my snook from Dan. They are so active and are funnier to watch eat than my peacock bass. And they are absolutely stunning, especially in breeding dress. I really look forward to how these guys look in a couple of years. They should be huge by then;)

If you have them in your monster tank they will be huge next month lol. Mine are growing crazy fast in what would be considered a puddle compared to your tank.

Ya they are in there. One male and two females. They are growing quite quickly for sure, about 1.5" average per month that I have owned them with the male around 9".
