Howdy,

I already miss the SharkAquarium - for all the wrong reasons.

I'm fairly set with monsters (though not immune to impulse purchases). But I really miss adding large schools of small fish to my monster tanks. I miss George's Otocinclus for $1 ea, or cardinal tetras for $1 ea, or white cloud minnows as $0.10 feeders to just name a few.

Number one, other fish stores don't generally have 100 of the same fish.
Secondly, typical prices of other stores would be hardly as affordable as George made it.

Any other sources of large numbers of small fish for cheap?

Let me call for the help of the NJ rat pack and other locals

You can often get Tiger Barbs for $1 each when they go on sale. They look awesome as a school, and they can be eaten even by slow fish like Bichirs because they lazily sleep near the bottom of the tank at night.

See if 5D will wholesale you a load of fish, we used to get cardinals for like 10 cents a piece wholesale.

When I need cheap schooling fish, I go to petco and buy a bunch of zebra danios with my pals reward card for .97 cents ea.

I dont like the large chain pet stores but ya Petco pals club or whatever can get you pretty good deals on the danios, tiger barbs ect.

Yeah i feel ya harley... sharkaquarium was my favirote lfs. Aquascape is ok and absolutely fish is alright but neither are like shark aquarium.

Petco was mentioned, but at the right time I find more $1 selections at Petsmart.
