the species is channa marulioides
get some! they r not even that aggressive... but keep in mind they r under some blue nightlights... but they generally have the same colors just the blues r brought out more in the pics...

you have plenty of them... you just needa look harder
I dont know about in MI though... its kinda a long drive down to Florida...

do your research online on where they have been caught... if u drive to PA or VA u can catch some nice Channa Argus in the wider slower moving parts of the potomac...
