I just got a new Maxijet 900 "Pro" and the thing is buzzing like crazy. I've had 2 in the past that were a bit nosy for a day or two but then quieted down. This once has been up for a week and continues to make enough noise I can hear it clear across my house. Anyone have experience with this? Do the newer ones tend to be noisier these days or is this one just a dud?
 
Itsadeepbluesea Itsadeepbluesea You might have a defected one, exchange/return it. I used the same brand but mine was 1200 GPH and they are super quiet, the only thing bad about it that the sucking cup is too weak, my powerhead keep falling off from time to time so I switched to Hydor Brand Product.
J joe jaskot That 5 years old thread and the product got improve over 5 years, we can't judge some bad experience years ago and keep it for life :p

Thanks for the response guys. I'll give it a few more days to see if it adjusts, but if not I'm probably going to have return it. It is definitely far to loud. I was considering the Hydor brand but did have experience with them, and always had good luck with maxijet (with the exception of the suction cups).

Yuki Rihwa, I have had the same issues with the suction cups on my old ones. Some would stick well, others were constantly having to be re-attached.
 
Well good news is that it appears to be quieting down :-), may not have to return it after all.
