Loud Noise Near your Setups?

We all know that tanks are best placed on locations where the temperature is constant. But what about noise? Has anybody ever seen articles and literature on effects of loud noise near tanks and ponds?

It doesnt seem like fish get affected by load noises. Theyre more sensitive to vibrations than noise. Anyone have input ,experience on this ? Thanks!
 
They dont act any different when the home theatre is cranked.

I also noticed that. Its strange since sound also travels in water. I guess fish only percieves it as weak vibrations.

But if really strong vibrations, such as a 3 year old acting like a kangaroo would stress them out.
 
I find small fish are more sencetive to movement and sound , so my placement of the tank was taken in to conciteration. when half to 3/4 of the way grown they seen not to care so much and act more normal.. :D
 
I don't know how many of you have put your ear up to the tank before, but filters can be pretty loud. It would annoy the carp out of me but I guess they get use to it.
 
this may seem silly but I Myself never thought fish had ear's ,more or less thought they felt the vibration and just seen the movement.. :D


Placement of a house hold sponge (thickness to taste) or even foam.. will damper the vibe's of and air pump by 95%, that there alone cut's noise off your setup..



redtaialfool: I can see how a 3yr old acting like a kangaroo would stress fish..
it would stress me , wondering are they going to hit the tank ... or go fishing!!! :WHOA: :D

Same here. I have my speakers right next to my tank on both sieds. Even the deeps bass that rattels the Family pix on the otherside of my wall around dosen't bug them. Me droping sumthing on the ground. Or when I jump up and land close(right next to it) or far(at my door(10feet away)) they kinda freak and scatter
 
my stero has alot of base... isses off my gators not my fish
