Louisiana Longears

mine are mostly red with some blue. that's why I went with central longears for more blues.
mine are much more aggressive than my bluegill.

Did you catch the Longears or buy them....I know the bootheel has whats called "mississipi embayment Longear" which are sold as "Louisiana Longears".

there are 3 to 6 subspecies of Longears in the US (all depending on who you talk to) You can tell the difference the most with theyre colors (the missouri or kansas longear has more red than orange in its color pattern) and the forehead of the males in some Mo longears have a almost cichlid like small nuchal hump http://zimmermansfish.com have pictures usually of both. Mo Longears are supposed to be more aggressive than some of the others.
 
I just got Central & Missouri Longears from Zimmermans in Oct. So would the LA Longears you got be the same coloring as his Central Longears or are they different colors altogether?
 
What'll be awesome is when Asians get a hold of enough centrarchid stock to make long-ear flowerhorns. Bwah-hah-hah.
