bout 2 weeks ago i got my fx5 in. loaded it with biomax, filter floss and polishing pads. absolutly love it. the clearity from the peng. 350 is huge lol.
by the way, that sunfish in the pics, if anyone can ID it id greatly appreciate it. if it helps the top rear corner of its eyes is red. or i guess you would say from 12 to 3 oclock is red and from 3 back around to 12 theyre black. its like that on both sides. thanks in advance.

Any external filter will somewhat help overcrowded bioloads to some extent.
External filters (especially canisters and sumps) add extra water to your tank size.
Ex: 75 gallon tank with a 30 gallons of water in the sump=plus or minus 105 gallons of water
Obviously that does not work when you put say a 12 inch fish in a 12 inch wide tank. There is still issues with tank measurements. Yes, more water is in the tank now and waste will be more dilute in the water just because there is more water, but the fish will still produce roughly the same amount of waste.
