I'm in need of some floating plants that don't need much light, in order to break up the top of the aquarium for my african butterfly fish. I got a couple of small pieces of duckweed mixed in with some java moss from the LFS, and I thought that would do the trick, but either it got eaten or it got sucked up by the filter becuase now its nowhere to be found. I guess I could just float some fake plants but I'd like to go natural if possible.

Any suggestions??

Thanks in advance

Try water sprite . It grows great floating and you can tie piece of string to it scotch tape end behind tank and it will hold in place .

I grow it in my pond's like floating bush but have given it to betta lady from work who uses standard weak floursecent bulb and it grow's.

Looks nicer than duck weed or azzola . Cheap enough for you to pick up piece at local pet store and try.

I think neat easy floating plant great for your fish to hide in.

If you want duckweed, I'll send you a huge portion, you just have to pay shipping. I scoop it out of my tanks right now in ridiculous amounts. I can fill a gallon every week.

I would stick with duckweed, personally. Although it can be a pain in your filter.

What filter are you running?

WyldFya, thanks for the offer! I'll definately send you a pm if I decide to go that way :headbang2

Currently 2 Aquatech 30-60s (re-badged penguin 330's) but that may change soon as I don't much care for them.
